Showcasing fashion’s most spectacular physiques in digital and physical book form, comes a personal project by leading industry photographer and KARLISMYUNKLE favourite Mariano Vivanco. Best known for his work with Dolce & Gabbana – and particularly his last book Uomini, Mariano has captured Anne Vyalitsyna, Melodie Monrose, Chiharu Okunugi, Sara Sampaio, Andrej Pejic, Caio Cesar and Garrett Neff in various modern takes on the classical nude.

Kicking off 2013 with a high fashion editorial that really sets the standard is ELLE magazine. Actress Jessica Biel is featured in a story dubbed Fantastic Voyage by Thomas Whiteside alongside designers including Christian Louboutin, Nicola Formichetti, Jean Paul Gaultier, Giambattista Valli, Azzedine Alaïa, Isabel Marant, Olivier Rousteing (Balmain), Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli (Valentino) and the Maison Martin Margiela team.
Logistically the shoot must have been a nightmare, but if Biel was simply shopped into a lot of the images, then ELLE and Whiteside have done an incredible job.
This month’s issue of Dazed & Confused is guest-edited by MUGLER main man and former Dazed fashion director Nicola Formichetti. The Italian-Japanese trendsetter has diverted his vision towards the youth boom of his east Asian homeland. Here are the four covers for the issue dubbed #fantasia, featuring J-pop icon Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and Chinese film sensation Angelababy.
The new issue of Dazed & Confused, guest-edited by Nicola Formichetti, is out on Wednesday 14th November.
HERO magazine unveiled their cover (under the cut) for issue 8 earlier this week featuring Matt Ardell from DNA, photographed by Christian Ferrett. The same issue features a story shot by Johan Sandberg and styled by Nicola Formichetti with Jonathan from Eye Models. Formichetti combines his Nicopanda graffiti with current and vintage Mugler.
The issue is available to buy online now.
Another element (this time digital) to the “Lady Gaga’s Holiday Workshop” for Barney’s story comes in the form of an interactive experience by Tim Richardson and Nicola Formichetti called “Gaga Constellation”. It is currently running on a video wall, using Prysm technology, in window no. 2 on Barneys Madison Avenue up until January 2, 2012.
Starting today, fans and consumers can “tweet their wish into the constellation,” and watch on screen, as their tweets (edited by Nicola Formichetti) appear alongside Gaga within “Gaga Constellation”. The hashtag is #gagastars.
As part of the campaign behind the Formichetti pop-up in NYC, Nicola has collaborated with SCHOTT (Judas video biker jackets) to create the official “Nicopanda” as a physical object – and it actually looks pretty awesome. Nicopanda first came to life back in 2009 when he created the UNIQLO “Nicopanda” T-Shirts in collaboration with the Japanese retailer. Photo by Eisuke Negishi.
Loving the close up headshot magazine covers of late, a la Angelina Jolie for Vanity Fair by Mert & Marcus which was revealed yesterday morning. Here is Taylor Lautner by Steven Klein, styled by Nicola Formichetti for the current issue of VMAN Magazine.
Do you remember the Nicola Formichetti pop up shop that I told you about back in May? Well, it’s almost here. It opens on September 8 in NYC at 57 Walker Street in Tribeca. Here is the first look image (via The Cut) at the rendering for the shop, designed by architects Mark Foster Gage and Marc Clemenceau Bailly of Gage/Clemenceau.
