Every outlet that posts the Jean Paul Gaultier SS13 campaign images is going to “live and breath for” Ginta Lapina as Madonna, Hannelore Knuts as Bowie, Jeneil Williams as Grace Jones & Maria Kashleva as Boy George – and they have EVERY right to. The perfect cast was shot by Sebastian Kim and is completely in line with the SS13 show in Paris last season where Gaultier not only stole the show, delivered on publicity but beneath the theatrics was one of the icon’s finest ready-to-wear collections to date. Watch the show under the cut.
Jean Paul Gaultier has unveiled the new campaign for the expansion of his Le Male fragrance with Le Beau Male. Featuring American model Kaylan Morgan – naked, on ice, with tattoos and a Gaultier striped tee draped over one shoulder, Le Beau Male launches in early 2013.
Kicking off 2013 with a high fashion editorial that really sets the standard is ELLE magazine. Actress Jessica Biel is featured in a story dubbed Fantastic Voyage by Thomas Whiteside alongside designers including Christian Louboutin, Nicola Formichetti, Jean Paul Gaultier, Giambattista Valli, Azzedine Alaïa, Isabel Marant, Olivier Rousteing (Balmain), Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli (Valentino) and the Maison Martin Margiela team.
Logistically the shoot must have been a nightmare, but if Biel was simply shopped into a lot of the images, then ELLE and Whiteside have done an incredible job.
Following the announcement of the third ‘Tattoo’ bottle in the Limited Collection for Diet Coke by Jean Paul Gaultier a fortnight ago, here is your first look at the incredible designs for the exclusive ‘Night & Day’ cans designed by Gaultier himself. This is the first time in the brand’s history that a design collaboration has translated onto the 330ml cans.
The ‘Night’ can has a sexy rock theme that immortalises Jean Paul Gaultier’s corset and iconic cone bra design. While the ‘Day’ can is inspired by Jean Paul Gaultier’s signature Breton stripes and captures his fun attitude. The definition of pop couture, one might say.
The cans will be made available across Europe at select retailers from July to September.
After launching the short film series and unveiling the first two bottles (the Night & Day collection) in Paris in April, it is now time to complete the collection. Diet Coke and JPG have just officially unveiled the ad campaign and design for the third bottle in the Diet Coke by Jean Paul Gaultier series. ‘Tattoo’ showcases Jean Paul Gaultier’s passion for body art and dresses the bottle head-to-toe in iconic designs reminiscent of his past catwalk collections.
The campaign image was once again shot by Stéphane Sednaoui.
As a reminder, here is the Serial Designer short film starring Eleanor – the Diet Coke puppet inspiration for Tattoo.
Right now, I am sitting in the Crazy Horse in Paris, where Jean Paul Gaultier has just unveiled his first set of designs as Creative Director of Diet Coke via three unique, bespoke and elaborate burlesque performances. This partnership is a project that I have been working on with the Coca-Cola European team and Jean Paul Gaultier for the last six months, so I am really pleased to finally be able to share the designs with you.
Last month we announced Gaultier’s role as Creative Director of Diet Coke and launched the Serial Designer short films (click here, here and here to view), so it is with great pleasure that I am sharing with you the images of the exclusive limited edition bottles designed by Gaultier himself, along with the ad campaign which was shot by his close friend Stéphane Sednaoui. As you will note the lace/corset and sailor designs are reminiscent of Jean Paul’s signature looks. The bottles are available in select retailers across Europe from today. The third bottle (featuring an incredible tattoo design – look closely at the commercial below) is set to be released this summer.
