Marilyn Monroe is fast making the biggest comeback of 2012. Madonna, Nicki and M.I.A. dressed like her in the video for Give Me All Your Luvin’, Nicki even has a song titled Marilyn Monroe, there have been two films released about the icon and now the news has broken that MAC Cosmetics will launch a limited edition collection. Back in January 2011, the rights to the late film star’s image were bought by Authentic Brands (a company which also handles Bob Marley’s estate) and Neca, an entertainment licensing company – this collaboration appears to be the first in a wave of brand partnerships with the Monroe name in tow.

MAC plans to celebrate Marilyn Monroe’s legacy and iconic beauty look with a limited edition color cosmetics collection, due at all worldwide MAC locations in October and will include eye shadows, lipsticks, nail lacquers and eyeliners. Looking forward to seeing how the creatives at MAC work up the POS and campaign imagery in advance of launch.
